Oussama Batouche is a Data scientist at HUCC, and PhD condidate at University of Helsinki.

Presently, he is working at the Helsinki Urological Cancer Center (HUCC), where they are focused on furthering both the clinical and academic elements of urological cancer care at Helsinki University Hospital (HUS) and University of Helsinki. Within this role, the team is actively involved in the development of innovative methodologies to analyse and enhance existing clinical practices related to Prostate Cancer (PCa) treatment using AI and real-world data. The primary group objective is to prevent unnecessary treatment and overdiagnosis.

Oussama’s PhD thesis revolves around statistics, image processing and artificial intelligence models to profile PCa and predict its outcomes.


Mainly interested in:

  • Machine learning and statistics for Science and Healthcare.
  • Supervised/Unsupervised learning (multi)models.
  • Data acquisition, curation, and model validation.
